SCAC neighbors benefited from the generosity of a new program of the Warren County Farm Bureau.
Feed Our Neighbors Support Our Future began this year at the Warren County Fair. Thanks to generous buyers and volunteers, 4,375 pounds of 4-H raised pork was donated to Shared Harvest and delivered to Warren County food pantries.
SCAC received several pounds of sausage.
“Meat is hard for food pantries to get and we appreciate this thoughtfulness of this unique program,” said SCAC Executive Director Wendy Ford.
The program has been selected to receive a County Activities of Excellence award from the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF). Warren County Farm Bureau will have a booth at the AFBF trade show during the annual convention in Austin this January to share the program with other Farm Bureau members from across the nation.
